A fire broke out at a South Los Angeles high school, officials said.
The fire was reported at 2:19 p.m. at Animo South LA Charter High School, at 11100 South Western Ave., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

"All of a sudden it expanded so quickly," Alicia Tribble said.
Within 20 minutes most of the building was engulfed in flames, witnesses said.
Aerial footage showed flames blowing through the roof and smoke billowing rapidly from the single-story building.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the flames. One hurt his elbow. The other suffered smoke inhalation.

"There was some heavy conditions inside and so he took a lot of heat," LA County Fire Inspector Scott Miller. "Right now it is really a safety precaution for him."
The blaze brought down the front facade and gutted the school.
Workers were fixing air conditioner units on the roofs building and were seen in the back of the building, witnesses said.
All of the workers were accounted for as well as the firefighters and no deaths were reported.
The charter school was home to 600 students who were scheduled to return August 12.
