Firefighters climbed to the roof of a two-story house Monday to douse a fire in La Canada Flintridge.

The fire damaged the home, but no one was hurt, authorities said.

Firefighters were sent to the 5300 block of Ivafern Lane at 8:09 a.m. They extinguished the flames in about 45 minutes, said Inspector Frederic Stowers of the Los  Angeles County Fire Department.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. A damage estimate was not  immediately known.

The house is just south of the Station Fire burn area in Angeles National Forest.
