Firefighters Battle Fullerton Brush Fire Flare-Up

Firefighters are responding to a brush fire flare-up Friday afternoon in Fullerton, near the site of a brush fire that scorched a canyon hillside earlier this week.

According to Fullerton Fire Department Deputy Chief Julie Kunze, five fire units arrived at the blaze near Castlewood and Coyote Hills Drive just after 1 p.m.

Ten more were being dispatched, along with a helicopter to fight the flames from above.

A fire in the same area Tuesday forced the evacuations of nearby homes and burned 80 acres.

At least one man has been arrested on suspicion of having started the earlier fire.
