Firefighters Battle Marijuana Dispensary Fire in South LA

Firefighters were trying to contain an early morning fire at a marijuana dispensary in South Los Angeles on Tuesday, according to the LAFD.

The fire was reported around 3:40 a.m. at a two-story commercial building in the 6000 block of Broadway, according to the LAFD. Firefighters said heavy flames and smoke coming from the structure.

The roof of the building was destroyed and the first floor of the dispensary sustained damage, firefighters said.

More than 100 firefighters responded to the blaze and put out the fire in about 45 minutes.

Fire investigators said the second story of the building was under construction and someone was trying to convert it into a living space. The area was vacant during the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
