Firefighters Put Out Apartment Fire in Arcadia

One woman was treated for burn injuries and smoke inhalation.

Firefighters contained an apartment fire in Arcadia that injured one person Friday night, firefighters said.

Firefighters responded to the blaze just after 9:30 p.m. in the 900 block of W. Huntington Drive and found an upstairs unit in the back of the two-story building engulfed in flames, according to Arcadia Fire Department.

One woman was rescued from inside the burning unit and transported to a hospital to be treated for burn injuries and smoke inhalation, according to fire department.

The building was evacuated and the blaze was declared a 2-alarm fire due to the location of the unit. No other units were affected, the fire department said.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire within about 30 minutes.

Arcadia Fire Investigators determined that the fire started in the bedroom and was accidental in nature.
