Firefighters Recovering Body From OC Flood Control Channel

Firefighters are working to recover a body from a rain-swelled flood control channel in Garden Grove Friday.

The body was spotted by a pedestrian at 7:28 a.m. in the water of the East Garden Grove Channel, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

Garden Grove firefighters saw the man's body stuck to the center pilar of a tunnel at Ward Street, according to a press release. They are trying to perform a swift-water rescue to retrieve the body from the heavy current.

The man was wearing blue jeans but there are no other details about the man in the water, the police statement said.
