Two Rescued From Tree in Simi Valley

Two tree trimmers were rescued from a tree after an incident with power wires.

Two tree trimmers were rescued Tuesday from a tree at a home in Simi Valley after power lines were reported down.

The two men were about 50 feet up in a tree in the 4100 block of Eileen Street when the incident happened. One man was unharmed, but the other was found in critical condition and transported to a local hospital.

Crews from Southern California Edison shut off power to the downed lines, and firefighters with the Ventura County Fire Department, were able to bring both men to the ground.

About 1,300 customers were without power while the rescue operation was underway.
