Irvine Police have arrested a man accused of murdering a woman on the campus of UC Irvine. It's the first-ever homicide on campus. The shooting was reported at around 7:30pm Sunday night at the graduate student housing complex on South Verano Road at Adobe Circle Road, on the east side of campus. The woman and the suspect have a four-year-old child together who police say was nearby when the shooting happened. Police say it started with an argument inside the apartment complex and then spilled out into the parking lot. It is unclear if the two were married or boyfriend/girlfriend. Police say the suspect shot the woman multiple times. She was taken to the hospital where she died. The man was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered.
