After a deadly plane crash-landing in San Francisco on Saturday, officials canceled dozens of flights between Los Angeles International Airport and San Francisco International Airport.
As of about 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, 23 departures from LAX to SFO and 20 flights from SFO to LAX were confirmed canceled, according to LAX spokeswoman Nancy Suey Castles.
In addition, five international flights headed to SFO were diverted to LAX.
Airlines were making arrangements with their passengers, which may include bus travel between the cities, rebooking passengers on future flights, and giving out hotel vouchers, Castles said.
Several travelers shared their horror stories.
"We were supposed to leave at 8:20," said Oklahoma City-bound traveler Larry Rubenstein. "It said it was on time. Got here, on time. And then at the last minute they canceled. Apparently, the crew was coming from San Francisco."
Noelle Mays also suffered some setbacks on her trip to Sacramento.

"We're going to San Jose tomorrow on a plane, and then taking Amtrak from San Jose to Sacramento," she told NBC4.
And the mess caused by the crash will likely spill into tomorrow, Castles said.
"Tomorrow’s (Sunday’s) flights between LAX and SFO are heavily booked due to the combination of holiday weekend and peak summer travel, so it is expected the airlines will require one to two days to catch up on the backlog of cancelled flights," Castles wrote in a statement. "Passengers are advised to check with their airlines – via their websites or directly by phone -- on the status of their flights before coming to LAX."
