Following Outage, San Fernando Valley Officials Extend Cooling Center Hours

In response to a power outage that affected thousands of customers in the San Fernando Valley and the extreme heat that continues to linger in the region, city officials are extending cooling center hours at some Valley locations Sunday.

A heat advisory remains in place until 11 p.m. in the valleys and mountain areas. Sunday's valley temperatures are expected to be in the 90s, hitting triple digits in the Antelope Valley, but a few degrees cooler than Friday and Saturday's record-breaking highs.

The following cooling center facilities will be open until 10 p.m. Sunday:
