Former Mrs. Orange County Jailed in Child Porn Case

A former Mrs. Orange County is accused of sending sexually explicit images to a Marine in exchange for cash and gifts.

A former Mrs. Orange County was in jail Thursday on suspicion of creating child pornography with a 4-year-old relative and selling it to a Marine stationed in Southern California, authorities said.

Meghan Breanna Alt, 25, of Irvine, is accused of sending sexually explicit images of a 4-year-old girl to the Marine in exchange for cash and gifts, according to Orange County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock.

Alt won the Mrs. Orange County pageant last year and competed in the Mrs. California contest in June of 2014, Hallock said.

She was held in lieu of $100,000 bail. Alt, who was under surveillance, was arrested following a traffic stop in San Diego County on Wednesday, according to Hallock.

Alt is also suspected of advertising unspecified services online that sometimes led to her having sex with clients in exchange for money with her children present, Hallock said.

Alt, along with her husband and children, recently moved to Irvine. Former neighbors in San Clemente said they were surprised to learn about the child porn accusations involving Alt.

Hallock said Alt is involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in San Clemente and Irvine, where investigators believe she worked with young children as a volunteer.

Investigators said they are concerned there may be additional victims and asked the public to contact the Orange County Sheriff's Department if they have any information.

Alt is expected to appear in court Oct. 9. It's not clear if she has an attorney.
