Four Officers Injured After Two Police Cars Crash in Downtown Los Angeles

Four officers were injured after two police cars crashed early Thursday morning in downtown Los Angeles, police said.

The accident was reported around 12:15 a.m. in the 200 block of 11th Street, according to the LAPD. Police said the collision happened when officers were responding to a report of police needing back up for a vandalism suspect they were chasing.

During the pursuit, the patrol cars crashed into each other. One of the vehicles struck a power pole and the other vehicle nearly crashed into a building.

The vandalism suspect was caught and arrested.

The injured officers were transported to a hospital with minor injuries, according to the LAPD.

Two officers were released from the hospital and two remained but were not suffering from major injuries, police said.
