The beaches should see plenty of sunshine this Fourth of July.

Low clouds and fog have shrouded the coast for the past several days, but a thinner marine layer Saturday morning was expected to evaporate by the afternoon, forecasters said.

Highs will range from about 70 degrees at the beaches to the 80s and 90s inland, to about 110 degrees in the low desert environs near Palm Springs.

Water temperatures in the surf zone will be the low 60s, and winds will be out of west and generally light, peaking around 10 knots in the late afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters said the pattern should persist through the weekend.
