Freight Train Derailment Disrupts Metrolink Antelope Valley Line

Crews cleared a derailed freight train early Tuesday from tracks in Pacoima, but Metrolink riders can expect delays as work continues at the site.

Metrolink will replace its trains with buses Tuesday along the Antelope Valley Line from Newhall to downtown Burbank because of the derailment, which occurred at about 10 p.m. Monday along a stretch of track that Metrolink trains share with Union Pacific trains. About 50 Metrolink and Union Pacific crewmembers are at the site early Tuesday near San Fernando Road  and Sheldon Street.

No injuries were reported.

It was not immediately clear what caused the derailment.
