LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti and his longtime girlfriend were married over the weekend, his office announced Tuesday.
Garcetti and Amy Elaine Wakeland were married Sunday in Los Angeles at a small ceremony attended by the couple's parents and close friends. They live in Echo Park.
"It should mellow me out," Garcetti joked as the council adjourned this afternoon.
Garcetti is up for reelection in the city's March 3 election.
