Two Seriously Injured When Pickup Loses Control, Shears OC Telephone Pole

An out-of-control pickup truck slammed into two parked cars and sheared a utility pole in Orange County, police said.

The crash occurred at 2:26 a.m. Sunday, with the vehicle traveling southbound on West Street at Dunklee Lane in Garden Grove, according to a spokesman with the Garden Grove Police Department.

Two men who were in the white pickup were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. It was unclear if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

About 114 people lost power due to the crash, a SoCal Edison spokesman said. It was unclear when the power would be restored.

Sgt. Richard Burillo said utility workers were on scene but wouldn't be able to restore service for until the mid-morning. "They're just waiting for us to wrap up our investigation," Burillo said.
