Construction Workers Rupture Gas Line in Rowland Heights

Construction workers ruptured a gas line in Rowland Heights early Tuesday.

The break happened at the work site at the intersection of Walnut Drive and Nogales Street at around 2:49 a.m, Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

The main was buried around 15 feet deep, and an urban search and rescue team had to be dispatched before an attempt was made to repair the line. The gas company is on scene repairing the pipe.

No evacuations from the area, which is not residential, were reported.
