Four Detained in Glassell Park Shooting Death

Four people were detained Tuesday in the shooting death of a woman found in a car northeast of downtown Los Angeles.

The deceased woman, identified only as a woman in her 30s, was found at about 2:30 a.m. in the vehicle in the 3200 block of Isobel Drive. Police received a 911 call from a residence in the neighborhood to report the shooting.

Police said the woman's death was related to a drug deal and that the victim may have been targeted. Police did not release an official motive or identify the victim.

The four detained individuals, believed to be friends of the victim, were being questioned by investigators after a neighborhood lockdown that was ordered after they refused to come out of the house, police said. Residents were advised to stay in their homes until about 5 a.m.

Details regarding the shooting death were not immediately available.
