Possible Confrontation Leads to Deadly Stabbing Outside Courthouse

One stabbing victim was able to walk over to a police station for help, officials said.

A possible fight led to a deadly stabbing early Monday outside the Glendale courthouse that briefly shut down the building and impacted nearby businesses, officials said.

A man in his 40s was killed and a second man in his 30s was wounded in the stabbings were reported around 2 a.m. at 600 East Broadway, said Sgt. Robert William, of the Glendale Police Department.

The man in his 30s was able to walk across the street to the Glendale Police Department for help, William said.

When authorities arrived, they followed the wounded man's blood trail and found the second man dead in front of the courthouse, police said.

The man in his 30s was expected to survive, officials said. No arrests have been made. Detectives hadn't interviewed the man since he was heavily medicated, officials said.

It appeared the men were the only ones involved, but officials were hoping surveillance video shows what happened.

Details about the men's identities were not immediately available.

Streets nearby were blocked off during the investigation.
