A marijuana dispensary security guard was wounded in a shootout with three masked men outside the business in Palmdale on Wednesday, sheriff's officials said.

The shooting occurred about 7 p.m. in the 36000 block of Sierra Highway outside of the Green Cactus Collective, said Lt. Belinda Johnson of the Palmdale Sheriff's Station.

The suspects fled before they were able to enter the store. The security guard drove himself to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, Johnson said.

It was unclear whether any of the suspects were wounded in the gun fight.
