Steve Brown, La Canada-Flintridge Resident
Mud flows and out-of-control water are tearing through canyon neighborhoods.
Residents who spent the last six months, since the end of the Station Fire, setting up sand bags and k-rails and even railroad ties are now facing their worst nightmare.
Steve Brown, a homeowner on Ocean View Boulevard says he spent nearly a thousand dollars shoring up the hillside behind his home. Saturday morning, he said his house was saved, but 4 feet of mud is in his backyard so far and he says at least four cars belonging to neighbors are crushed and sitting in his front lawn.
A couple of La Canada residents posted a home video to their Facebook detailing the destruction happening in their neighborhood due to the local storms.
County officials fanned out at midday to evacuate about 500 homes in the same zones evacuated by prior rains, including La Canada Flintridge, La Crescenta and Acton, said county fire inspector Matt Levesque.
"Everywhere we look, we see destruction, just home after home," said helicopter reporter-pilot Larry Welk.
