The Los Angeles Hall of Justice was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after the report of a suspicious package, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
A bomb squad investigated the device reported at the hall on Temple Street between Spring and Broadway, and the entrance was closed.
The suspicious device was reported at 3:50 p.m., calling for the evacuation of the first floor.
Shortly after the Sheriff's Department's Arson Explosives Detail arrived and assessed the device, they deemed it posed no threat.
About three blocks away, protesters had gathered at Los Angeles Police headquarters to rally after the commission ruled the fatal shooting of an armed woman in 2015 was within policy.
