Phil Spector's fake locks aren't allowed in the lockup.

Spector cannot wear his many wigs in the North Kern State Prison, just outside Bakersfield. The prison released a photo Wednesday of the unplugged music producer and convicted murderer.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation took custody of Spector on Friday from Los Angeles County. North Kern State Prison is a reception center in Kern County. It's used to make housing determinations for inmates.

In May, Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life in prison for killing actress and House of Blues VIP hostess Lana Clarkson in the foyer of his Alhambra mansion more than six years ago.

At the conclusion of his second trial, the 69-year-old record industry figure was convicted April 13 of second-degree murder for the 40-year-old woman's Feb. 3, 2003, shooting death. The first jury to hear the case against him deadlocked 10-2 in favor of guilt in September 2007.
