High School Girls Basketball Coach Accused of Sex With Student, Another Minor

A 19-year-old girls basketball coach accused of having sex with two minors at Orange County high schools was arrested Wednesday, authorities said.

Dwayne Jordan Richardson, of Fullerton, allegedly has sex with a female student at Villa Park High School and another at Placentia's El Dorado High School, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Both were minors, deputies said.

"It's very disturbing, as I said. Whenever you have someone like that at a high school with kids it's hard to deal with," said Patricia Medenas, a parent at Villa Park.

Richardson was a walk-on coach at the Villa Park girls basketball team, according to investigators, who believe there may have been other victims.

The Orange Unified School District is cooperating with the sheriff's investigation, according to a statement from the district. Richardson an assistant coach with the girls' basketball team for the past year at Villa Park, and officials emphasized he did not work in any classrooms.

He did not work at El Dorado High School in any capacity.

Richardson was booked into Orange County Jail on three sex-related charges, deputies said.

Even though Richardson and the two girls are all teens, officials said the relationships were clearly not allowed.

"Though the age difference isn't dramatic, he should know it's a violation of the law," said Lt. Jeff Hallock.

Deputies ask anyone with information or who believes they were a victim to call 714-647-7418.
