Police Seek Driver After Hit-and-Run Leaves Motorcyclist Dead

Police were asking for the public's help in finding the driver who fled a fatal hit-and-run crash east of Inglewood Friday that left a 30-year-old motorcyclist dead at the scene.

The unidentified driver was headed north on Harvard Avenue when he pulled in front of a motorcycle going east on Florence Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The motorcyclist lost control of his bike and then collided with the car. The driver of the car stopped, but left without identifying himself or helping the injured man.

The LA Fire Department arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene, but authorities were withholding his identity until family is notified.

The vehicle police were searching for is a silver or white Jeep Liberty with a license plate containing "6TJ."
