Toddler Struck in Post-Shooting Hit and Run

Police say the motorist was fleeing the scene of a gang-related drive-by shooting when the driver struck a 3 year old.

A 3-year-old girl was struck by a hit-and-run driver as the motorist fled the scene of what police called a gang-related drive-by shooting Tuesday night in Anaheim.

Police said they stopped a car near Harbor Boulevard and La Palma Avenue in Anaheim in connection with the crash. No arrests had been made as of 11 p.m.

The shooter opened fire into an alley in the 1700 block of West Neighbors Avenue about 8 p.m., said Sgt. Bob Dunn with Anaheim police.

As the driver turned out of the alley, he struck the girl walking with her family near Neighbors and Glen avenues, Dunn said.

The girl was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

No one was injured in the shooting, Dunn said.
