Investigators are asking for the public’s help to find a hit-and-run driver who struck a 74-year-old woman and drove away in El Monte Sunday.
The woman later died from her injuries, investigators said Monday afternoon.
Police were called around 7:50 a.m. Sunday to the 11300 block of Valley Boulevard, near Gibson Avenue, where they found the woman had been left lying in the roadway.
She was taken to LA County-USC Medical Center in critical condition. Her name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators have no other information about the driver, according to a statement from the El Monte Police Department, and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.
