LOS ANGELES, CA - SEPTEMBER 25: California State Attorney General Jerry Brown speaks during National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims on September 25, 2009 in Los Angeles, California.
State Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown is either looking to star in an action movie or become the next governor of California. Brown will attend a Wednesday evening fundraiser that will include some top Hollywood A-listers including Steven Spielberg, David Geffen, and Jeffery Katzenberg, according to the LA Times.
The 71-year-old Brown hasn't officially announced his intention to run but San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, the only other Democratic challenger, dropped his bid last month leaving Brown to build his campaign coffers.
The party, hosted by talent manager Sandy Gallin, may raise more than $1 million for Brown, according to the Times.
“Every one of the co-chairs is either writing [a check for] and or raising $50,000,” entertainment industry consultant Andy Spahn told the Times.
Other attendees include Oracle Chief Executive Larry Ellison and Netflix founder Reed Hastings.
