Driver Asks for Directions, Opens Fire on 3 Men in Hollywood Shooting

Three men were injured when gunfire erupted in a Hollywood neighborhood Sunday night, police said.

The shooting took place on Lexington Avenue, a few blocks from the 101 Freeway, Los Angeles Police Department officers said.

Police said the group was approached at about 9:40 p.m. by a man driving an older pickup truck, who asked the three men for directions before shooting at them. It was unclear why the shooter, described in his mid-20s or 30s, would open fire on the men.

The men, all in their 20s, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The victims were uncooperative with investigators, LAPD Capt. Dave Storaker said.

It was also not clear if officers were searching for a shooter.
