Homeless Man Stabbed to Death in Anaheim: Police

The man's body was found at La Palma and Imperial Highway.

A homeless man was found stabbed to death Friday evening in Anaheim, police said.

The man was found at La Palma and Imperial Highway, said Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn.

Police confirmed that a possible suspect was detained. But they stopped short of linking the man to other recent homeless killings in the Anaheim area.

A task force was recently established after the stabbing deaths of three homeless men whose bodies were found in three locations in Orange County in December. Police believe the three murders were the work of a serial killer.

The identity of the victim from Friday night was not released. But several people who frequent the businesses in the area said they knew the man well.

Krista Schegetz said she had warned the man about the series of homeless killings.

"When the second one happened, I didn't know if he'd heard," said Schegetz. "I know he reads the paper. But I wasn't sure and I said just please be careful."
