A blind senior was found decapitated in Inglewood Thursday, neighbors said.
The man, identified as 75-year-old Robert Hollis, was found in an apartment on the 800 block of Glenway Drive at around 12:45 p.m., according to the Inglewood Police Department.
Neighbors told NBC4 Hollis was decapitated, but police have yet to release any details about the nature of his death.
Shocked residents said Holis was a kind man. They recalled that he had recently held a yard sale. He is believed to have been in his mid-70s.
Detectives have launched a murder investigation into the slaying. The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office attended, but have yet to confirm his identity.
