Whose body was discovered near a bike trail close to Magic Mountain Parkway?

That's the question investigators are asking after skeletal remains were found near the South Fork bike trail shortly before 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The body was discovered by a man looking for a lost pet, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Cops say the body appears to be male, but the identity and the cause of death are still not apparent.
