IOC President to Wrap Up Two-Day Los Angeles Visit

International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach is wrapped up a two-day visit to the 2028 Olympics host city.

Bach was scheduled to meet with Mayor Eric Garcetti for a Monday morning news conference after a busy Sunday in Los Angeles.

Bach was joined by Garcetti and Casey Wasserman, chair of LA 2028, the Games' bid committee for the Rams game Sunday at the LA Memorial Coliseum. The Coliseum will be the site of track and field for the 2028 Olympics and portions of the opening and closing ceremonies.

The visit comes five days after the IOC unanimously selected Los Angeles to host the 2028 Olympic and Paralympics.

Bach also attended the Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday to begin the two-day visit to the Los Angeles area. Bach, Garcetti, Wasserman and Olympic gymnastics gold medalist Nastia Liukin walked on the red carpet for the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater, the proposed venue for weightlifting for the Olympics.
