Inglewood Pastor Accused of Lewd Acts Against Girl

The alleged acts began when the girl was 12 years old, according to sheriff's deputies

A 50-year-old Inglewood pastor has been arrested on suspicion of engaging in "substantial sexual acts" with a girl, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials said.

The alleged acts began when the girl, now 14, was 12 years old, the sheriff's department said Friday morning.

"An ongoing affinity developed and continued for (approximately) the past two years. Solomon and the victim exchanged numerous emails and texts of a sexual nature and met at various locations," sheriff’s officials said in a statement released Thursday.

Gordon Solomon, a pastor from Christ’s Community Church, reportedly met the girl through his involvement in the church. The victim’s mother discovered an explicit text from Solomon on her daughter’s phone and notified police, officials said.

The relationship lasted for about two years, according to sheriff's investigators.

Solomon was booked early Wednesday for felony lewd acts upon a child and is being held on $3 million bail.

He was slated to appear in the Inglewood branch of Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday morning, according to the sheriff's department's inmate locator website.
