A couple awoke Monday to find an intruder in the kitchen of their Silver Lake home.
The couple locked themselves in the bedroom and called 911, police said. The intruder tried to break into the bedroom, but left the home in the 3000 block of De Longpre Avenue as officers arrived.
No arrests were reported early Monday. A detailed description of the intruder was not immediately available.
No items were removed from the home during the break-in, reported at 3:30 a.m.
