Authorities are investigating the cause of a derailed Union Pacific freight train in Lincoln Heights after five rail cars carrying automobiles derailed early Friday.
The derailment was reported at approximately 4:10 a.m. in the 700 block of South Lamar Street near the San Antonio Winery.
The incident will not interfere with commutes since the derailment was in the Union Pacifc Railroad Yard, according to Justin Jacobs, a representative for Union Pacifc Railroad.
No injuries, fires or hazards were reported.
