Man Who Bit, Stabbed People Shot and Killed by Officers in Van Nuys

A burglary call turned deadly after officers shot and killed a man on Sunday afternoon in Van Nuys, officials said.

The man was accused of biting two people, stabbing one, and injuring another with an unknown object.

Police said the man tried to attack an officer, causing officers to open fire on the man.

The shooting occurred on the 6900 block of Kester Avenue and Hart Street around 1 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspect was taken to a hospital where he later died, LAPD said.

The 50-year-old man who was stabbed was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
