Humane Society Seeks to Help Kitten With ‘Broken' Heart

Edgar, the two-month-old tabby, needs immediate surgery or will almost certainly die

The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA is seeking funds from the community to help save the life of a kitten who was born with a congenital heart defect.

Edgar, the two-month-old tabby, needs immediate surgery or he will almost certainly die, the humane society said Thursday in a news release.

The animal shelter is asking the community to help fund the life-saving surgery, which is anticipated to cost $4,000 to $6,000, not including post-surgical care. Click here to donate to Edgar.

The Pasadena Humane Society is also launching the "Miracle Fund," a reserve that will be used to provide care for injured, abused and underage animals like Edgar who are in need of expensive medical treatment.

Donors can contribute here to give Edgar and other animals a chance at a happy future.

The fund is named after a puppy "Miracle," who was brought to the shelter after it was maimed by a car in a hit-and-run.
