Airlift for 2 Injured in PCH Crash Involving LA County Fire Truck

A county fire truck and another vehicle crashed on Pacific Coast Highway in western Malibu Saturday, and rescuers used hydraulic extrication tools and a helicopter to help the victims.

The crash was called in the by stricken fire truck's crew at 12:25 p.m., from PCH at Paradise Cove road, about six miles west of the Malibu Civic Center. Fire Dispatch Supervisor Robert Diaz confirmed the location.

An air rescue helicopter landed at Pepperdine University and took the two most seriously injured victims to UCLA.

By 1:15 p.m., traffic was getting past the crash on one out of the five lanes.
