LA Courthouse Evacuated Due to Suspicious Device, Bomb Squad Clears Possible Threat

A suspicious device plugged into an outlet at a Los Angeles courthouse forced the building to be evacuated Monday morning, police said.

A bomb squad investigated the device found plugged into an exterior outlet at Los Angeles Metropolitan Courthouse at 1945 S. Hill Street, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman. The

The building's evacuation was lifted just after 11 a.m., about an hour and a half after the device was reported at the court's traffic division, police said.

No one was reported injured, according to police.

Metro Blue Line train service was suspended at a nearby stop, Grand/Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, because of police activity, according to a tweet from the transit agency. Normal service resumed at around 11:30 a.m., but residual delays were expected through 12:30 p.m.
