LA Detective Charged in Massage Parlor Sex Crimes

The alleged offenses took place between January 2011 and January 2012.

Prosecutors say a Los Angeles police detective has been charged with sexual battery while on duty at massage parlors he was assigned to oversee.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said Friday that 48-year-old Oris Pace was charged with five felony counts of assault by a public officer and six counts of sexual battery.

The alleged offenses took place between January 2011 and January 2012.

Pace was a supervisor in the Commission Investigation Division, which is responsible for enforcing business permits, including massage parlors.

Prosecutors say he forced three victims at different parlors to undress then fondled them.

Pace was arrested Thursday and released on bond.

It's not clear whether he's hired an attorney, and a message left at a number listed in his name was not immediately returned.
