Nearly 100 firefighters were needed to extinguish a blaze at a former private school in Van Nuys Saturday morning, officials said.

The fire was reported about 11:30 a.m. at the former Pinecrest Van Nuys campus in the 14100 block of Sherman Way, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

It took 96 firefighters 43 minutes to extinguish the blaze confined to a two-story building, officials said.

The former campus has several structures scheduled to be demolished, officials said.

No injuries were reported in the fire, and its cause is still under investigation.
