Homes, Hotels and More Coming to Site of LA Rams Stadium in Inglewood

"I am overwhelmed. I am joyful. I am excited," Theadora Welch, who works in Inglewood, said. "The community needs this."

A new neighborhood is going up around the future stadium of the LA Rams bringing new plans for hotels, apartments, town homes and more.

It has been nearly two years since the groundbreaking of the future home of the LA Rams at the demolition site of the former Hollywood Park Racetrack.

Residents who live and work in the area of 1050 S Prairie Avenue are already making big plans, despite the fact that the stadium itself isn't expected to be complete until the 2019 NFL season.

"I am overwhelmed. I am joyful. I am excited," Theadora Welch, who works in Inglewood, said. "The community needs this."

Welch is looking to buy an apartment in the area. The neighborhood is on its way to being transformed into a hub around the football stadium, considering the Rams left LA some 20 years ago.

"I am shopping now to make sure I get a good deal," Welch said.

Since breaking ground in 2014, the former site of the thoroughbred racetrack is on its way to featuring nearly 3,000 homes and apartments, retail stores, including a luxury hotel. Al of the new development will take up an anticipated 238 acres of land in the heart of Inglewood.
