LA Residents Offered Options in Recycling Christmas Trees

LA residents can place their tree curbside or drop it off at a local fire station or park

From curbside pickup to fire station drop-off, Los Angeles residents have been given some options in disposing of their Christmas trees.

The city’s sanitation bureau is offering up advice on how to properly recycle trees as the holiday season nears its end.

Curbside pick-up is available on collection days, and trees can be cut and placed into the green waste bin. If the tree’s too big it can be set next to the bin on collection day, the bureau said in a flyer.

On Sunday Jan. 5, recreation centers, parks and fire stations will accept Christmas trees. The bureau advised that there will be no giveaways and that holiday wrapping will not be accepted at these locations.

The drop-off centers, open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., are listed below:
