The victim of a kidnapping near La Brea Avenue and 10 Freeway was found safe Thursday afternoon, police said. The suspect was still oustanding.

Edgar Gomez was being trailed by police in connection with a robbery he allegedly committed on June 6 in Culver City when he allegedly forced his way into a woman's car around 12:45 p.m., said Officer Rosario Herrera with LAPD.

The driver of the gold Hyundai was found near the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, Herrera said.

Gomez, 22, is described as 5-feet-8-inches tall weighing about 120 pounds.

Initial reports described the event as a carjacking, but later Thursday police said it was being treated as a kidnapping.
