LMU Offers $20,000 Reward for Capture of Off-Campus Rapist

The attack happened on Nov. 1 last year at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house during a Halloween party

Loyola Marymount University is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to the capture of a man who raped a student off-campus in Los Angeles.

The attack happened on Nov. 1 last year at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house on the 8700 block of Yorktown Avenue during a Halloween party. So far police have made no arrests.

The victim was at the event with friends when she took a wrong turn while looking for the bathroom. She ended up in the garage, where she was cornered by an unidentified man., who sexually assaulted her.

The rapist is described as being in his early 20s, around six foot tall, and weighing 170 pounds. He was wearing a white top hat, shirt and dark pants, and had brown shoulder length hair.

It is not clear whether the suspect was a member of the fraternity or a guest of the party.

Police previously said similar allegations of sexual assault had been made about other events or parties held or affiliated with the fraternity.

In an open letter last year the student's mother pleaded for someone to come forward and identify the attacker.

"The rapist is still out there, so we are frustrated because it's very hard knowing people know who he is," the mother said. "This was a blatant, forcible attack."
