Lake Elsinore Mayor Arrested for Domestic Violence

Lake Elsinore Mayor Brian Tisdale was placed on administrative leave from his position as an assistant to Riverside County Supervisor Chuck Washington Tuesday in the wake of his arrest for alleged domestic violence.

Tisdale, 53, was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of battery on a former companion and vandalism, both misdemeanors.

"This matter will be handled by the justice system and the county Department of Human Resources,'' Washington said in a brief statement released this afternoon.
Few details were available regarding what happened.

According to sheriff's officials, deputies were called to a residence in the 19000 block of Applewood Court in Lake Elsinore to investigate a domestic disturbance.

After questioning Tisdale and the alleged victim, whose name was not disclosed, the suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released a few hours later.

Tisdale has worked for Washington since last year.
