Lakers Trade Michael Beasley and Ivica Zubac to Clippers for Mike Muscala

The Lakers have made two trades in the last 24 hours: neither of them were for Anthony Davis.

Less than 24 hours after acquiring point guard Reggie Bullock from the Detroit Pistons, the Los Angeles Lakers were active again, sending veteran forward Michael Beasley, and backup center Ivica Zubac to the Clippers for forward Mike Muscala.

Beasley was only averaging 7.3 points this season, and missed multiple games because of the health, and ultimate death of his mother.

Zubac, a fan favorite was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NBA Draft by the Lakers and was affectionately nicknamed "Zu-block," because of his shot-blocking ability. He averaged 8.5 points and five rebounds per game this season.

Muscala was recently acquired by the Clippers in their trade with the Philadelphia Sixers that sent Tobias Harris and Boban Marjonovic to Philadelphia. Muscala is a stretch-four that can spread the floor and shoot threes.

Both Beasley and Zubac were mentioned in trade scenarios for New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis, but with the trade deadline now over, the Lakers were unable to come to a deal with Davis and now must wait until the offseason to acquire him.
