Lancaster Deputy Shooting, Suspect Dead

A deputy-involved shooting left one person dead Wednesday night in Lancaster, authorities said.

The incident occurred in the 44000 block of Spearman Avenue in Lancaster shortly after 9 p.m., according to Lancaster police.

The suspect, who was described only as a white adult man, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Sheriff's Homicide Bureau investigators have responded to the scene to investigate the shooting's cirumstances, the details of which were not available at the time of publication.
