Lakers Larry Nance Jr. Dunks on Nets Center Brook Lopez

Larry Nance Jr. was born with springs in his feet, and Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez found that out the hard way

Anyone following the Los Angeles Lakers knows by now that Larry Nance Jr. can dunk and that he got it from his daddy, who won the first ever NBA Slam Dunk contest.

On Wednesday night in Brooklyn, however, Nance took his jumping ability to the next level as he got up to the sky over Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez, who is a legitimate 7-foot center. Lopez is tall, and he jumped, but Nance got higher and stayed in the air longer until the Nets' center shrunk to two feet tall.

Even the Nets' bench had trouble keeping their composure on this one.

The Lakers may have lost their eighth game in a row and lost to one of the worst teams in the NBA, but at least Nance give Lakers' fans something to cheer about on an otherwise forgettable game.

The Nets may remember the victory, but they didn't exactly play beautiful basketball. Wednesday night's game in Brooklyn could be used as punishment for any basketball fan, and the game film should be burned in an undisclosed location, save for Nance's dunk of course.

Neither team shot even 40 percent from the field, and the Nets missed 10 free throws on the night. Foul shots are literally called "free" throws, but the Lakers topped the Nets in terms of awfulness, as the purple and gold missed 13 of their free throws.

The final score was 107-97, and the Nets collected their seventh win of the season, while the Lakers lost their 18th of the year and eighth in a row.

Back to Nance's dunk, though, that was fun.

After the game, Nance was asked about what he was thinking when he jumped up over a 7-footer, "At that point, it's more so go to the basket aggressive. If the contact is there, there will more than likely be a foul. If not, I can finish over him, and I knew that."

One more time in slow-motion, please note how far away from the basket Nance is when he jumps and that the 7-footer also jumps pretty darn high, just not high enough. Look up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's Nance dunking on Lopez.
